Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford, has finally decided not to leave Old Trafford to join Barcelona for £100million this summer. DAILY POST recalls that Rashford was among the three strikers who were shortlisted yesterday by the La Liga champions to replace Luis Suarez at the club. Rashford’s current deal with Man United will expire at the end of next season. The Mirror is now reporting that Rashford has decided that he has “no desire” to leave his boyhood club, Man United, and would reject a move to replace Suarez at the Camp Nou. Suarez, who is 32-year-old, is in the later stage of his career at Barcelona. The Uruguay international has won lots of trophies at Camp Nou since joining Barcelona from Liverpool in 2014. He has scored 18 goals in 27 La Liga matches for Barcelona this season but has failed to score in six appearances in the Champions League this campaign

Manchester United have joined a list of clubs, in the race to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea in the summer, according to the Daily Mail. Hudson-Odoi, 18, made his England debut in the 5-0 demolition of the Czech Republic on Friday night. The teenage winger was called up by Gareth Southgate, despite failing to make a single Premier League start for Chelsea this season. Hudson-Odoi has been linked with a host of clubs in recent months. Bayern Munich saw four separate offers for him knocked back by Chelsea in January and are expected to return with another bid in the summer. Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest. Chelsea are desperate to hang onto Hudson-Odoi, but his currentcontract with the club is set to expire in 2020 and he has rejected their offer of an extension in a deal worth a reported £85,000 per week.

Amaju Pinnick Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick has disagreed with the Super Eagles Manager, Gernot Rohr over the latter’s comments that the Nigerian team are not favourites to win the 2019 African Cup of Nations trophy this summer in Egypt. The Super Eagles were the first team to qualify for the tournament on the continent and at the weekend they put the ice on the cake by beating Seychelles 3-1 to finish top of a group which also has South Africa and Libya. But despite these bright sparks by the team, Coach Rohr has consistently maintained that his team were not amongst the four favourites to lift the AFCON trophy in Egypt and at the weekend further impressed it upon fans that it would be stupid of him to believe that his charges were good to go for the top honours in African football. “We are not among the favourites to win the Nations Cup trophy and it would be stupid for me to believe that we are going to win it”, said Rohr. The Egyptian national team has arrived in Asaba, Delta ahead of their international friendly match against Nigeria on Tuesday. The Pharaohs finished their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers campaign, with a 1-1 away draw against Niger. Head coach of the side, Javier Aguirre, dropped the country’s biggest star Mohamed Salah from the game. Salah will also be missing in action against the Super Eagles at the Stephen Keshi Stadium. Both countries will use the game to prepare for the 2019 AFCON finals, which will be hosted by Egypt in June. The last time Egypt faced Nigeria away from home was in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
